Fort Stewart is a United States Army post that lies primarily in Liberty and Bryan counties. Fort Stewart has been a part of the Southern Georgia landscape since 1941 and is home to the 3rd Infantry Division. It is situated on 280,000 acres and has the distinction of being the largest military installation east of the Mississippi. Tank, field artillery, helicopter gunnery, and small arms ranges operate on the reservation year-round. Hunting, horseback riding, bird watching, and other recreational activities are readily available to you on the fort property. The beautiful Canoochee river runs through the fort offering an amazing selection of boating and fishing options as well. The fort hosts various festivals and concerts throughout the year offering cultural and unique experiences for people of all ages.
